Det er den næst dårligste score i hele “Star Wars” -sagaen, kun over ‘The Phantom Menace’ (53% & 5,97 / 10) og lige under ‘Attack of the Clones’ (65% & 6,59 / 10).

“Well at least Episodes I & II have serious dunce competition now. The ‘Fantastic Beasts 2’ problem of a rushed, messy substructure using poor quality fan service to patch the holes. Some nice small moments, but such an FU to ‘Last Jedi’ and often a bore.” – Garth Franklin, Dark Horizons

“In its anxiety not to offend, it comes off more like fanfiction than the creation of actual professional filmmakers. A bot would be able to pull off a more surprising movie” – Stephanie Zacharek, TIME Magazine

“RISE OF SKYWALKER feels like what would happen if, instead of writing an actual screenplay for a STAR WARS movie, you went on Reddit and found a list of EPISODE IX demands written by an unhinged lunatic and then just shot that instead.” – Scott Wampler, Birth Movies Death

“There’s no spark; no joy; no life. If this truly is the end of the Skywalker Saga, what an ignoble end it is.” – Chris Evangelista, Slashfilm

“If anything, the director has overcompensated, practically tripping over himself in a mad-dash effort to deliver the expected goods and then some.” – David Rooney, Hollywood Reporter

“As dicey as it all is narratively, Abrams’ milk earnest thrills out of acts of unity writ large, and find a corny emotional buoyancy in heartfelt reunions.” – Russ Fischer, The Playlist

“The Rise of Skywalker is pure fan service, for better or worse – and it’s mostly for the better.” – Peter Howell, Toronto Star

“The Rise of Skywalker rarely comes close to touching greatness, but it’s a solid, visually dazzling and warmhearted victory for the Force of quality filmmaking.” – Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times

“Rise of the Skywalker isn’t an ending, a sequel, a reboot, or a remix. It’s a zombie” – Darren Franich, Entertainment Weekly

“Neither the best nor the worst of the “Star Wars” franchise…And don’t shed too many tears. Disney is going to make sure that the echoes of your goodbyes will barely have had time to fade by the time of the rollout of the next “Star Wars” story arc.” – Cary Darling, Houston Chronicle

“Rather than making a movie some people might love, Abrams tried to make a movie no one would hate, and as a result, you don’t feel much of anything at all.” – Sam Adams, Slate
